CASTLE BROMWICH RAMBLERS COMMITTEE ROLES
Chair:
To chair Committee and General Meetings.
To co-ordinate the work of the Committee and its Members
Vice-Chair:
To substitute for the Chair in his/her absence
Secretary:
To convene General and Committee meetings in liaison with the Chair.
To take, and circulate, minutes of meetings.
Treasurer:
To keep the accounts of the Group’s finances and produce an Income & Expenditure report to each meeting of the Committee and the AGM. To draft Budget and submit to Area Treasurer
Membership Secretary:
To keep a record of the Group’s members, based on information received from the Area Council and Central Office.
To promote the recruitment and retention of members.
Rambles Secretary:
To maintain the online sign up walks programme sheet and encourage walk leaders to sign up.
To circulate news of last minute cancellations via the group Whatsapp account.
Footpaths Officer:
To take the lead in ensuring that paths in the Group’s territory area are kept in usable condition, and liaising with Local Authorities and members to achieve this.
To report path problems encountered on walks to the Ramblers/Local Authorities.
Press Liaison Officer:
To promote the Group and its activities among the general public, including liaison with the media.
Publicity Co-ordinator:
To co-ordinate the distribution of publicity materials – e.g. Walks Programmes and posters in public locations such as libraries and parish notice boards.
Newsletter Editor:
To draft and ensure the distribution of the Group’s quarterly newsletter.
Librarian:
To keep, and maintain a catalogue of, the Group’s supply of maps
Committee Member:
To attend and contribute to the Committee’s meetings
Webmaster: [Need not be a Committee Member]
To keep the Group’s website up to date and in good order.
Warwickshire Area Council Representatives:
To attend the quarterly meetings held on Saturday afternoons in Warwick
The Committee meet at Castle Bromwich Remembrance Club (at 1200 mid-day) at least four times a year.
Committee Meeting dates for the next year are:
16th December 2026, 10th March 2027, 9th June 2027, 8th September 2027
AGM and Social Evening combined - 2026
The 2026 AGM was held at Water Orton Cricket Club at 7.30 pm on Friday 34rd October. A fish and chip supper (free for members), a bar, and a raffle followed a short business meeting in which a new committee was elected.
